ADDIGTON JOTTINGS.

BLACK WATTLE FOE AUCKLAKB.

(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A two-year-old gelding, by Real Guy from Mindful, has been sold by A. Hendricksen, and goes to Nelson. A further lease of the pacing mare Quality has been secured from her breeder, Mr. J. O'Grady, and the Denver Huon mare will remain in C. S. Donald's stable. The Wildwood Junior mare Alone, the dam of that promising three-year-old Prince Pedro, has been purchased by C. S. Donald, the Belfast trainer. Alone is in foal this season to Peter Bingen. One of the most promising young pacers sold at J. J. Kennerley's sale was a yearling by Nelson Derby from Rare Bell Direct. The pacer was purchased by.A. Hendricksen, who was offered a substantial advanoa on the price paid soon after the sale was completed. Mr. J. Fleming is the new owner of the pacer Pet Locanda, who has a good deal of speed but she has so far not raced up to her training form. Most of her sire's progeny improve with age, and Pet Locanda -may do well in the new season. It looks in the meantime, however, as though she will be best suited to short races although Brent Locanda's stock are usually good stayers. The Australian-bred mare Rare Bell Direct is in foal to Rey de Oro, and she is to remain here for some time. Black Wattle, on-e of the recent additions to J. J. Kennerley's stable, was | sold at the clearing sale, and goes to Auckland. Black Wattle may be a useful performer in short raoes in the North, as he showed a good deal of dash in his first race here.
