WAR VICTIM'S TRIALS.
LONDON, June 12. The most operated upon victim of the war must surely be Major James Gillies, of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, who has left for Canada after_ spending eleven years in British hospitals and undergoing no fewer than 44 operations. These gave him an entirely new jaw as the result of grafting from other parts of the body, performed by his famous namesake Major H. D. Gillies, chief plastic surgeon of the Ministry of Pensions Hospital in Roehampton, who was born in New Zealand. The latter's only doubt is whether or not the new skin ( grafted to the new jaw will be able to stand the severity of the Canadian j winter. t
