TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE. FEW SALES BUT FIRM TONE. OUTSIDE LINES ASKED FOR. BREWERIES WANTED AT 74/6. Though actual sales have been scarce since the "Star" went to press yesterday, there has been a keen inquiry for stock and interest lias spread to many lines outside those usually sought aftei. Bank of Australasia, have been neglected for some time, but this morning a seller offered a parcel at £14 17/6. Kauri Timber has weakened after the spurt of a month ago, when sales were made at close to par. At the inoining call a buyer came forward offering 17/0. Outside lines that were also called for were Northern Boot Co., offered at par, and Phillipps and Impey. The latter company paid its last dividend at the rate of io per cen; and £2 was offered for the £1 shares. For Kuala Kampa Tin Mining paid up to 10/, 12/ was offered. These shares sold freely at higiier prices a few months back, but in the interim the tin market has suffered a marked decline. New Zealand Breweries continue exceedingly firm and £3 13/6 was offered, but the lowest seller asked £3 15/. At the Noon Call, Breweries showed further firmness at the noon call, buyers offering the record price of £3 14/6, but the lowest seller wanted £3 16/3. Buyers for Phillipps and Impey, Ltd., shares advanced their offers to £2 2/6. Wailii luinlng eased further, with sellers at 12/3. Farmers' Auctioneering have been regularly asked for of late and at the midday call £3 5/ was offered 'for the £5 shares. A sale of National Bank of Australasia contributing shares showed a drop of 4/3, but a dividend has been paid since the last transaction. Interest Rates.
