WESTPORT AND HOKITIKA WORST.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The superintendent of the Wellington Telegraph Office advises: — "Communication between Greymouth and C'hristchurch was obtained at 4 p.m. "As the result of the earthquake the Greymouth office was badly shaken, and several cracks on tlie top floor are. showing. Two chimneys were damaged. The new portion appears to be unaffected. "At Hokitika the post office building is twisted out of alignment. Three chimneys have fallen and the stairway is impassable. The postmaster has had to remove to safe quarters. '■'At Reefton the building is slightly cracked. "Minor damage was done at the Blackball and Runanga offices." In addition, the Westport office was practically demolished.
