SERVICE CAR MISSING. 'PLAXE SENT IX SEARCH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) XELSOX, this day. It is understood that the persons killed at Murchison are:— C. Morel. Mrs. Bush and her son and daughter. It is stated that the hillside which came down and enveloped them was nearly half a mile away from the house. It is not a steep hill, but from meagre reports available it appears to have slid down across the valley, over half a mile wide, blocking the Matakitaki River four miles above Murchison. Mr. B. F. Spiers, who came through to Glenhope to give warning of the blocked rivers, took nine hours to do the 30 miles. Service Car Missing. One of Xewman Bros.' service cars, which would have been in the vicinity of Lyell at the time of the earthquake, on its journey from the West Coast to Xelson, has not reported. There were tivo passengers in it.

Newman Bros, have engaged an aeroplane from the Marlborough Aero Club to search the district. The 'plane was expected to reach Nelson oarly this afternoon, to pick up Mr. Jack Newman and proceed to the stricken area. Mr. Newman hopes in this way also to gain information concerning the conditions of the roads. Captain Chandler is in charge of the 'plane. Fifty People Homeless. Arrangements are being made to bring •10 or (50 homeless Murchisou residents to Nelson. It will Tje a difficult matter, owing to the state of the road.
