CORDIALLY GREETED.

Big Crowd Welcome General

Dawes.

RENDEZVOUS AT LOGIE HOUSE

(British Official Wireless.)

(Received 1- noon.)

RUGBY, June 10.

A large crowd assembled at Forrt-s station early this afternoon to witness the meeting between the Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald, and the United States Ambassador, General Dawes. General Dawes travelled through the night from London, and on the arrival of the train Mr. Mac Donald boarded the Ambassador's coach and cordially greeted his visitor.

After conversing for some time they left the train to be welcomed formally bv the local Town Council. General Dawes and Mr. Mac Donald, after returning their thanks, motored to Logie House, ■where Mr. Mac Donald's lifelong friend Sir Alexander Grant and Lady Grant awaited them.

Logic House is a beautifully situated baronial mansion with many historical associations, its famous visitors having included "Bonnie Prince Charlie," who lodged there on the eve of the Battle of Culloden.

The conversations began immediately after lunch and were of an informal character, covering various aspects of Anglo-American relations.

It is understood that General Dawes extended a warm invitation to Mr. MacDonald on behalf of President Hoover to visit the United States later in the vear.
