MINISTER ON TOUR.

The Minister of Lands, accompanied by the Valuer-General (Mr. T. Brook), the chief drainage engineer (Mr. R. G. McMorrin) and the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr. K. Graham) were met at Bowentown North by Mr. C. E. Macmillan, M.P. At Tahowai Mr. Geo. Alley showed the Minister virgin lands adjoining improved farms. The Minister was impressed by the great possibilities of the country. After lunch at Katikati he was met at Apata by Mr. C. O. Bayley and others, who drew attention to the flourishing soldier settlement, and asked for a goods shed for fertilisers, etc., at Paihoia station. Mr. W. McClinchie and party showed the Minister further large tracts of unoccupied Crown and other lands at Waipapa.
