REQUIEM SERVICE.
RECTOR OF ST. PATRICK'S COLLEGE. CEREMONY AT CATHEDRAL.
This morning at nine o'clock a solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated in St. Patrick's Cathedral for the repose of the soul of the late Father Ryan, S.M., M.A;, rect-or of St. Patrick's College, Wellington. Several hundred people, including many Old Boys, attended the impressive ceremony. A choir of priests sang with great feeling the Gregorian "Missa de Requie." The celebrant of the Mass was the Rev. Father Spillane, S.M. He was assisted by the Rev. Father G. Colgan (an Old Boy of Sacred Heart College) as deacon, and by the Rev. Father Alink (St. Peter's Rural Training College) as sub-deacon. The Rev. Father Cahill, of the Redemptorist Order, officiated as master of ceremonies. Amongst the clergy present were the Very Rev. Dean Van Dyk (representing the Mill Hill Fathers), Dean Brennan (Parnell), Father Furlong (Devonport), Fathers Bradley and O'Neill (Remuera), Fathers McKeefry, Power and Von Rotter (Cathedral), Tully (Howick and Panmure), and Kearns (Ponsonby). The Rev. Brother Benignus (rector of Sacred Heart College) and the Bev. Brother Borgia represented, the Marist Brothers. The Sisters of Mercy and the Sistes of St. Joseph and the Marist' Sisters were also represented.
