According to an announcement by the Prime Minister to-day a Minister of-the Crown will be present in Auckland on June 26 to exchange with'the captain of the Cerman warship ■ Emden on' its arrival courtesy calls on behalf .of the .Government. . . . Sir Joseph Ward pointed out.that the captain of the Einden would call.on him and his colleagues in Wellington, but ae the-warship's first port of. call will be Auckland it was desirable that ' the Government should -be . directly represented in the initial courtesy call. He had made -arrangements also for the extension of invitations to the captain, as many officers as could be spaqjd, and cadets to visit' Rotorua,' and for the officers who could not go to visit.Waitomo. ' '*
