According to an announcement by the Prime Minister to-day a Minister of-the Crown will be present in Auckland on June 26 to exchange with'the captain of the Cerman warship ■ Emden on' its arrival courtesy calls on behalf .of the .Government. . . . Sir Joseph Ward pointed out.that the captain of the Einden would call.on him and his colleagues in Wellington, but ae the-warship's first port of. call will be Auckland it was desirable that ' the Government should -be . directly represented in the initial courtesy call.
