"There is no doubt whatever the Moth plane is the coming thing for private individual flyers. Soon they will be as common as motor cars and will be used just as freely. In England members of the various aero clubs are now holding picnics. They arrange to meet at certain spots, have their picnic and then fly back to their homes."

These remarks were made by FlightLieutenant Rodney, of the Royal Air Force, who was a passenger by the Ulimaroa from Sydney this morning. He is touring the world.

While in Australia Flight-Lieutenant Rodney went all over the Air Force bases and he stated to-day that the Australian Air Force is now reaching a very high standard of efficiency. It was moving along the right lines. At fii-st' the Government did not seem inclined. to spend much' money on that particular arm of defence, but now it was different. .

According'to Mr. Rodney. Moth clubs are springing up all over the place and every country he has visited so far, showed a marked air-sense. Mr. Rodney, will he in New Zealand till July 2, and during his stay will inspect • the aerodrome at : Christ-church and confer with officers of" the Air Force. He hopes to fly from Wellington to the South Island. Mr. Rodnev* has .'a brother "who is farming at Leigh. He will leave Wellington by. the Makura for Vancouver. In Canada lie will inspect the Canadian Government's forces at Ottawa. ' ?
