STATE OF PARTIES.
ONE RESULT TO COME. (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (Received 1.30 p.m.) LOXDOX, June 10. With the Scottish Universities election result, which returned Mr. John Buchan and Sir George Berry (Cons.) and Mr. D. M. Cowan (Lib.) the House of Commons is now complete except for Rugby, for which polling takes place on June 13. This election is owing to the death of the Labourite candidate after the nominations. The state of the parties now is:— Labour 2SB Conservatives 259 Liberals 5S Independents " 9 The aggregate votes are:— Labour 5,319,592 Conservative 8,57-5,905 Liberal 5,247,378 Communist 50,614 Women candidates of all parties secured 748,501 votes.
