SPORT IN WAIHI.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAX HI, this day. At the annual meeting of the Waiht Acclimatisation Society the following officers were elected : President. Mr. \V. H. Johnston; vice-president, Mr. E. A. Wilson; committee, Messrs. \V. Selling:, A. Sparks, R. Haszard, and A. R. Rimmer; secretary, Mr. G. A. Xisbet. The question of Closing the shooting season for two consecutive seasons in order to allow the birds to increase was discussed. It was resolved to communicate with the Auckland Society on the matter. The liberation of opossums, and charging 10/ a year on all guns instead of the present system of shooting licenses, wore also considered.
