THREE MONTHS' WORK.
NOT FiTOH&J YET.
CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
WATERSIDE AWARD DISPUTE,
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WELLINGTON, this day,
Conciliation Councils usually manage to finish their business in two, or, at the most, three days, but the council which has been, considering the dispute between the shipowners and the watersiders, bids fair to smash all records, if it has not already done so.
The council has now been sitting, although not continuously, for nearly three months, but it is not finished yet.
In order to facilitate proceedings, the council divided into a number of committees, each dealing with a different aspect of the problem. It is understood that considerable progress has been made, and that the full council will be called together in a week or so. An announcement as to success or otherwise will then be available.
It is stated that both parties are anxious to avoid ail appeal to the Arbitration Court.
