TRADE OF THE PORT.
ARRIVALS DURING MAY.
The vessels arriving at the port of Auckland during May numbered 043, including 577 local coastal vessels. As compared with.the corresponding period of last year the large merchant shipping shotoed a decrease of 11 vessels, of 53,445 gross tons. The local coastal vessels' returns showed an increase of 17 vessels, but a decrease in the tonnage of 10,859 gross tons.
The arrivals at Oneliunga during the month consisted of 26 vessels with an aggregate of 14,308 tons—a decrease of one vessel as compared with May of last year.
