NEWTON AND C. OUFTY.

- PLAYER'S REGISTRATION CANCELLED. The Newton Club on Saturday was without the services of C. Dufty, the Well-known New Zealand rep., and W. Somers. This was the result of a dispute between Dufty and the club officials concerning the selection of the senior team. A special meeting of the club was held on Thursday evening, at which it was decided to cancel Dufty's registration with the club. Subsequently a "Star" representative was informed that the dispute arose over the selection of tlio senior team, in which it was stated Dufty insisted that if a certain other player were not played he would not play. The matter may be ventilated before the Rugby League Committee in the event of Dufty applying for registration with another club. It is understood that Somers is retiring from the game.
