WAIKATO NOTES.
At the Lyceum Club Hamilton, on Tuesday afternoon the guest of honour was Mrs. Victor Macky, of Auckland. To keep her appointment in Hamilton, Mrs. Macky arrived early in the afternoon by aeroplane from Auckland. She recited several of her own poems, and also gave an address. Solos were sung by Mrs. H. Farquhar, Mrs. Cedric Bennett, and Miss H. Moule, and Mrs. H. J. McMullin played a pianoforte solo. A dainty afternoon tea was thoroughly enjoyed. Those present were: Mesdames F. B. Jolly, Ziman (Cambridge), F. A. Swarbrick, J. F. Strang, J. D. Smith, C. IT. Holloway, E. English, T. Platt (Matangi), Bothamley, J. J. Standrin, F. D. Pinfold, A. L. Sh'eppard, H. J. McMullin, R. B. Cram well, H. Farquhar, M. G. Coventry (Matangi), W. Fraser, Scrimshaw. A. F. Speedy, T. Lucas, Carr-Eol-lett, Vcre Chitty, H. Shaw, Cedric Bennett, Tuke (Taupriri), E. Walders, H. Toombs, Kent-Johnstone, P. E. Cleary, B. Shera (Kuwhia), Finlayson, M. Manning, J. Eaiistead (Matangi), Ibbotson, G. Watt, H. Nicholls (Tawhare), A. H. Tompkins, Marychurch, G. Wilks (Morrinsville), Andrews, W. A. Oliver (Matangi), Misses H. Moule, E. Wilson, Eggleston, Roberts, Ibbotson, Wyatt. Mrs. D. Lundon, of Cambridge, entertained a number of her friends at bridge, and also to meet her sister, Miss Z. Poole, of Auckland. The drawing-room was artistically decorated with bowls of choice chrysanthemums and autumn tinted foliage. The guests were: Mesdames N. Sutherland, Norman Banks, G. G. L. Taylor, E. E. Roberts, Jennins, Collier (Havelock North), M. Wells, Boston Couper, Innes Taylor, Misses Calvert, Braim, Gwynnctli, Cox and M. C. Christophers. The annual tennis dance, held in the Tirau Hall, Mas a huge, success. The hall was decorated in t)ie club colours, red and gold, and looked very attractive. The trophies won during the season were presented by the president, Mr. J. Keane. Those present were: —Mesdames J. Keane, A. Boiiiiey, E. Selby, W. Craig, F. Spedding, A. J. Neville, D. D. Fraser, J. Hawkes, Misses Stewart, Howard, Clarke, A. Hetherington, Dagg, Spedding, Hintz, Watson, Yaiiko, Egan, Stainsill, Downie, K. Truelove, Rainger, S. Mar-shall-Inman, Devcy, Geraghty, Manager, Ward, M. Roberts, M. Campbell, Rollett, Symes, N. Truelove and G. MarshallInman.
The annual dance in' honour of the visiting herd testers was held in St. Peter's and was a most jolly affair. The hostess was Mrs. Charles Hume, who wore a black embossed georgette frock with gold panels. Those present were: — Mesdames 8. Harris, K. Hesketh, Wrifrley, Misses E. Hume E. Cobbe, E. Snell, 1\ Howlett, D. Pratt. K. Eedwood, R. O'Brien, G. Jane, A. Wall, K. Frost, H. Speight, J. Perham, B. Wall, James, M.
King, Bowler, A. Pickering, A. Langton, McCabe, E. H. Hopkinson, E. Williams, M. Rennie, M. Perham, B. Livingstone, K. Fitzgerald, M. Hickey, E. Williams, M. Frost, R. Shepherd, E. Millington, J. J. Walsh and S. Shepherd. Miss Mabel Jones, of Tβ Awamutu, was the guest of honour at a delightful bridge party, which Miss H. Focke gave for her prior to her. marriage. Progressive flag bridge was played, the winning table "being Miss M. Quin, Mr. J. Grist and Mr. K. Smith. The consolation prizes were won by Miss Irwin, Mr. G. Finch and Mr. D, Storey. Others present were:—Mesdames Jones, Focke, L. Peake, A. L. Storey, Misses H. Civil, K. McGovern, E. Maiideno, S. Empson, E. Jones, G: Lockyer, Messrs. H. Focke, B. Hague, McGregor, D. Storey, D.
