The committee which has in hand the arrangements for the forthcoming Art Society's ball met yesterday morning. It is expected that about 1500 persons will be present, and a very gay scene is promised. There will be old minuets danced in the dress of the period, but not the same frocks as was ■worn at the Victoria League ball. The decorations are in the hands of Mr. Gerald Jones, who is providing an original scheme, which includes something very original for the supper room. It is hoped to make the ball a financial success, and thus help the Art Society to regain premises of its own, in which Dr. Gunson, president, has stated it is hoped to hang a collection of the work »£ the local artists, which will be for =K §?! the* j«ar round.
