DEPUTATION TO PRIME MINISTER

A deputation, consisting of Messrs. Mitchell, Massey and O'Donnell, waited upon the Prime Minister yesterday in reference to matters pertaining to agricultural associations in general, and the Auckland A. and P. Association »in particular.

Mr. Mitchell lodged a protest against the remit passed by the Municipal Bodies' Conference recently, wherein they ask to restrict the operations of Section 52 of the Valuation of Land Act, 1925, so that not more than 20 acres shall be subject to the special provisions of the Act. He referred to the property held by the Auckland A and P. Association at Otahuhu, and asked that the special provisions of Section 52 of the Valuation of Land Act 1925, be extended to all lands held bv A and P. Associations, provided that the returns from such lands are used wholly for the conducting of A and P
