RUGBY FOOTBALL.
TE PUKE UNION. TB PUKE, Wednesday. The weekly meeting of the Te Puke Rugby Sub-Union was held last evening, Mr. C. Walker presiding. Whare, a Huimai junior player, charged with striking an opponent was suspended for two playing Saturdays. Messrs. J. Courtney and Eric Snodgrass were appointed delegates to the meeting of the Bay of Plenty Union, to be held at Opotiki on Saturday, June S. Arrangements for the representative fifteen to travel to Opotiki, fulfilling a challenge to that union for the Te HurunuiApanui Memorial Shield, were finalised. A seven-a-side tournament for the Catley Cup resulted in Pongakawa beating United in the final by 11 to 3. Results of tournament are as follow: —First round : PongakawaA 11. beat United 3; United 12, heat Pongakawa B 0; Pongakawa A 11, beat Pongakawa B 0. Second round: Fongakawa A 11, beat Unitetd S; United S, heat Pongakawa B 0. Final: Pongabawa All, beat United 3.
