POWER SUPPLY.
MEETING OF AUCKLAND BOARD. • The Auckland Electric Power Board met yesterday afternoon, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth presiding. Mr, R. H. Bartley (general manager) recommended that the board should not take space at the Auckland Winter Exhibition. He was of opinion that' this was not the time to spend £050 to £700 when such expenditure in other directions would produce better results. Ho suggested that the board renew its decision of ,last year to allow those, demonstrating electrical apparatus to receive the electric power 'consumed free of charge. Mr. Bartley, whose report was adopted, said the position was .that there had been a race between'the Gas' Company and the Power Board to ; see who could spend the most money at the exhibition. It was far better to lend assistance to contractors, ■•-•
