■ FAMILY AROUSED BY CHILD. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) KAITAIA, Monday. The choking cries of their youngest child awakened Mr. and Mrs. Goodhew at Ahipara last night, and they found their bedroom full of smoke. Mrs. Goodhew hurried out of the building with the children, while her husband adjusted his wooden leg before, be was able to help her. The flames, fanned by a gale of wind, roared to a great height and rapidly destroyed the house, which was a wooden one of four roms. The family had to huddle in a nearby building from the storm until a. neighbour gave them shelter. The building was owned by Mr. J. N. TJerghan, of Ahipara, and was insured in the Atlas On ice.
