"WEAKER BRETHREN."
SALESMAN'S' LICENSE CANCELLED. RETURNED TO GAOL. Leo Samuel Carl Minifie (61), a salesman, who was referred to as "one of the weaker brethren" by his counsel, Mr. Noble, at the Police appeared for sentence tliil mpriiiifir. Minifie had pleaded guilty to a charge „f obtaining £0 from a man in Feilding by means of a valueless cheque, and another of failing to comply with the terms and conditions of-his release on probation. "That sort of weaker brethren should be kept behind iron bars was Air. Hunt's comment after he had been told that Minifie had previously been in trouble. This morning Mr. Hunt said- that Minifie bv the offence committed at Feildino- while on license, would autobe returned to gaol to serve, the remainder of the sentence ,"I,won.tincrease vour sentence." said .Mi:.. Hun.t,, "You will get a month's imprisonment.
