AMUSEMENTS.

HIPPODROME THEATRE. A cast of fifty performers is engaged in the production of "Cinderella," the pantomime which has been arranged for presentation at the Hippodrome Theatre during the children's school holidays. Nearly every child knows the story of Cinderella and her two sisters, and the tale of how the young prince found her when she dropped her slipper on the stairs, but few have had the chance of seeing the story enacted on the stage. The management of the Hippodrome has selected a splendid cast of players, and the whole show is unusually enjoyable from end to end. Beautiful scenery and pretty frocking is a feature of the show. On the same 'programme thepe is the appearance of Worth's Performing Dugs, a troupe that come direct from an Australian vaudeville circuit. These dogs are recognised as one of the best troupes performing anywhere, and their turns include dancing, balancing and acrobatic work. A full picture programme is also presented. "NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH." "Nothing But the Truth," a charming little play, the first of the season, by James Montgomery, was presented last evening by the Grafton Shakespeare and Dramatic Club, to a large and appreciative audience. The various parts were creditably sustained, and the audience thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The cast was:— Clarence Van Dusen, Arthur Woodham; E. M. Ralston, A. Outram Horspool; The Rev. Dr. Doran, Mervyn Rattray; Dick Donnelly, Rex Fairburn; Bob Bennett, Jack Gordon; Mrs. Rateton, Catherine Chalmers; Gwen, Audrey Perry; Ethel, Alice Kealy; Sabel, Winifred Crosher; Mabel, Lawrie McGregor; Martha, Mary Pilkington.
