ASSAULT CHARGE.
a ■ SUPREME COURT RETRIAL. A HORNING SIDE AFFAIR. Charged with assault- and intent to do grievous bodily harm by striking' a young woman with a length of iron pipe on the evening of March 2S, at Western Springs Road, Bertram A. O'Connor (Mr. Noble) appeared before Mr. Justice Herdman and a jury at noon to-day for retrial, following a disagreement'by the Supreme Court jurors last week. The Crown Solicitor mentioned, in the course of a brief recital of the facts alleged, that the victim of the blow, whose scalp was opened to the bone, was positive the accused was the man whot'ommitted the offence. Evidence on the lines of that collet fct.the previous hearing was being called this afternoon.
