THREE IDLE WOMEN.
TWO DRUNK IN MYERS PARK. THREE MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT. Two women, Mary Smith (55), and Elsie Florence Neville (49), were each found drunk in Myers Park yesterday. In addition to the drunkenness charges, both women were further charged with being idle and disorderly persons with unsufficient means to support. Both pleaded guifyy. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said special precautions had to be taken in Myers Park yesterday. Several men who were sober, were supplying liquor to the women. The men would appear in court later. Each woman had a long list of previous convictions. Smith had only been out of gaol three weeks. "The only thing to do with them is to give each three months' imprisonment," said Mr. Hunt. '"That will keep them alive, anyway*" "This is another woman of the same class," said the magistrate when Mary Cantell (48), was charged with assault and vagrancy. "Unfortunately she is," said the subinspector. Cantell was sent to join the other two women for three months. ir We will soon have to find a special placo to keep these sort of women out of the way," observed the magistrate.
