Z-O-O CALLING.
BARKS, ROARS, KISSES. LONDON, May 3. The Zoo's hundredth anniversary will be celebrated by the broadcast of solos and choruses by celebrated artists selected from the cages during children's hour to-morrow. Most is cxpected from those natural comedians, the kookaburras, which are in strict training. If it is damp and cloudy they will be greatly handicapped, but if it is sunny they will bring down the house. Sea lions will bark out improvised chanteys, and tho elephants will trumpet a salute. The parrot house will supply a chorus, tho soloist imitating kissing most naturally. The rattlesnake will be induced to give a solo, and the lions will supply "Pomp and Circumstance" as a finale. They formerly were left out of the Zoo broadcasts because they were uncertain starters. However, one of the lions is now most anxious to roar when confronted by a waggling mop, and he is certain to start off the others, resulting in a most impressive uproar. The oldest inhabitant —the only original member—the 200-year-old tortoise, will not broadcast, but will be regaled with a special banquet of bananas.
