RUGBY FOOTBALL.
THE CLUB GAMES. TRAINING COLLEGE LEAD. SOME BIG SCORES. Physical fitness was the determining factor in the match between Training College and Grammar Old Boy?, which was the big attraction at Eden Park on Saturday, and although the Goddess of I"ate may have been unkind to the latter, the former richly merited the fruits of -victory. Playing like men with a mission, Ponsonby swamped Technical College Old Boys in the linal stages of their match at the Show i.{rounds, the latter wilting und.ir the pressure and combined play of the Pony back?, who teamed in their best style. For College R'.fles it was a grev day. They had many glimpses of Varsity players in the curtain-raiser game at Eden Park racing for the line to triumphantly deposit the ball. In a game of sixes and sevens, City led Grafton until the last quarter, when the Magpies turned the tide and gained a clear-cut victory. There were 5000 people at the Rugby headquarters.
