. Tll e combined representations of thft Mnrnnsville Chamber of Commerce and Mr F y e. -M.P.. to secure a public slot telephone on the railway station, have drawn an trom the Postmaster-General, Hon. J. B. Donald, to install the convenience provided the public are prepared to pay 3d instead of the Id. Strong exception was taken by the chamber at last evening's meeting to what was felt to be an unfair and unwarranted imposition, and further efforts are to be made to secure for Morrinsville a telephone at the same rate as that obtaining in larger centres.
