AUCKLAND CHESS CLUB.
At a meeting on the committee on the Auckland Chess Club held on Thursday evening, it was decided to hold the usual competitions during the winter months and entries will be invited for the championship. intermediate level, minor level and handicap tourneys. Arrangements were made to officially open the season on Saturday evening next with a lightning tourney, at which all chess players will be welcome. The secretary was instructed to advertise this fixture in the "Star'' and '"Herald."
