LABRADOR EXPEDITION.
FIRST SNOW HOUSES OF INDIANS. The first known record of any houses built by Indians occurs among the Naskapi, of Labrador, who were investigated by the recent Rawson-Macmillan subArctic expedition of the Field Museum of Natural History. According to Dr. William D. Strong, anthropologist of the expedition and member of the museum staff, they pile up a heap of snow, hollow it out with a snowshoe, and deeply bed it with spruoei boughs.
