LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

ANOTHER SENIOR CLUB.

KINGSLAND ATHLETIC ADMITTED.

Though not favoured by the chairman (Mr. <j. Rhodes) the management committee of the Auckland Rugby League at last evening's meeting granted tlie request of the Kingsland Athletic Club to enter the senior grade.

There w*s a long discussion on the question. those supporting the application contending that the team would be a strong one, and would create added interest in the competition.

The chairman pointed out that the addition of a team in the senior srade would mean heavier claims for insurance, and from past experience he considered the League would not be able to meet the additional expense.

Consideration of a leas° of a sports ground in the Mount Albert borough was left in the hands of a deputation.

Sixteen applications for registration of senior players were approved.
