Mr. C. F. Taylor. solicitor, a member of the Borough Council, has been elected Mayor of Feilding. unopposed. FIAKO COUNTY ELECTIONS. (By Telegraph.—< i\vn Curres-pcndent.) MORRIXSYILLF, this day. All the members of tlie present Piako I County Council propose to utter themselves for re-elect ion at the forthcoming poll. It is understood that litiiher the chairman (Mr. W. K. Lo« ry. Kiitahi), u>r Mr. AN". A. Stark (Morrinsville) will be opposed. Mr. J. Stewart has announced that he will be a candidate for the Tahuna riding. Mr. Stewart lias had no previous public body work, though he has taken an active part in the life of the community at Talnuia and is' chairman and president of several organisat ions. In the event of there being no other opponent to the sitting member for the Waihou riding (Mr. W. C. Kennedy). Mr. S. McKibben states he will stand himself. WHAKATANE. (By Telegraph.— Own Correspondent.) WHAKATANE. this day. The Mayor (Mr. \V. Sullivan) has announced his intention to seek re-elc"-tion. All the ]iresent. councillors except two will seek re-election.
