LATE RATES MAINTAINED. I3ACOXERS SLLL BETTER. Messrs. Dalgety and Company. Limited, report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton salcyards on April Itith as under:--There was a larger yarding of beef than usual. Late rates ruled for prime ox and prime young cow and heifer beef. Second and low grade beef cows were lower. We sold a nice draft of light weight bullocks at up to £13 10 . On account of a client 2Vi-year Shorthorn fat steers at up to £12 15 ; runners at £5 13/ and £5 5, ; prime heavy cows a. up to £11 26: ordinary prime young cows £'J to £9 15; ; aged cows, ,C 5 7 li. There was a fair yarding of store cattle. Late rates were maintained. We sold a draft of store 2\'s and 3-year Shorthorn steers at £8 ti , £8 5 and £7 6 on account of Cliffs Estate. We sold 42 mixed sex P.A. weaners at £5. also 33 lied Polled mixed sex weaners at £4 l(i ; one pen small Jersey cross heifer calves, t'2 2 (i. Store cows. £2 10/ to £4 I.V . There was a moderate yarding of fat sheep, which were firm at late rates. Fat wethers. 34 ; shorn fat lambs, 2D ; store wethers, 20 3 to 27 ; woolly wether lambs 22 !1; shorn wether laml**, 20'; cull lambs, Hi 3:. 73 woolly ewe lambx 24,9; 77 woolly wether lambs. 22 11; 33 fat and forward Down cioss lambs, 23/; one pen cull lambs. 17 9. There was a large yarding of both fat and store pigs. Baeoners were better, while pork was the same as previous sale. Stores sold at late rata;. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company. Ltd., reports: A good yarding of beef cattle and fat sheep, and a heavy entry of bacon pigs and porkers. Vealers sold up to £3 2/6; store cows, £2 15/ to £3 10/; Shorthorn and Holsteiu cross steer calves, £2 19/; small, 30/; weaner heifers. Shorthorn cross, £2 10/.

Fat Sheep.— Best fat wethers sold to 36/6; light to medium weights. 31/ to 32/9; good quality, well done. Down cross ewes and wethers, 33/9: fat ewes, 28/6 to 29/0; fat lambs, 26/ to 'It,' 6: good shorn Romney ewe lambs, 21/7; shorn wether lambs, wellgrown. 20/1; black-faced, mixed sexes, 18/6.

Pigs.—Prime heavy baconers, £.'5 18/ to £4 4/; heavy. £3 12/ to £3 15/; medium weight, £3 4/ to £3 10/: light baconers, £2 17/ to £3 ]/. A line of 19 prime heavy baconers on account of Mr. K. K. Farrow, Waitoa, averaged £4 4 . Heavy porkers, £2 9/ to £2 15/; medium. £2 1/ to £2 (>/; light and unfinished, 28/ to 35/; slips, 10/ to 15/; weaners, 2/0 to 8/6.
