MR. RUSHWORTH'S CAREER.
Mr. H. M. Rushworth, the new member for Bay of Islands, was born at Croydon, Surrey, in 1880, and educated -it Rugby and Jesud College. By profession he is a surveyor and civil engineer. He also read for the Bar at Middle lemple.
Mr. Rushworth held the rank of capfain in the great war. He was wounded while attached to the Second Worcester Regiment, but subsequently joined the Air Force. While over the German lines he was again wounded. He was discovered by German soldiers as his machine was shot down and he was mado prisoner. When peace was declared he rejoined the staff of the London County Council, but ho resigned in 1023 and i-arne to New Zealand. He took up a farm at Opua and became associated with the Country party, and he was ' liosen as its candidate at the general election.
