Mr. Thomson read the draft of a letter he purposed sending to Sir .Josepn Ward, and e\f re>-ed the opinion tluit surveys of the coast would be invaluable. especially to fishery work. It was suggested that a small committee should be -ct up. one member of which would be Mr. Hefford. Chief Inspector of Fisheries. Commenting mi the cost. Mr. Thomson said he did not think it would exceed more than £2<H>.
