NEW FACES.
Herewini Included in City Recruits
■ erevrin i> who played good football in the League code last season, is among the reinforcements that will assist the City Club this season. The senior team is likelv to undergo a number of changes, as T. Hoard, who skippered last year's side, is unlikelv to scrip off; Dobson, who displayed good form, is now at the Thames; Ernie Fell is resident at Wellington (he will be a y missed), and X. Crisp, another hard-working forward, has left for the countrv.
Among those who will again line out m the red and black jersey are D. Kerrlaylor, Jacob, the Fletcher brothers, -McLean. Sorrenson and Ellis. The club is lucky in that it has quite a wealth of new material offering Notable among the new backs are Herewini.
K. Wright, who played the League game in Australia. i\ Purcell (Taranaki, Manawatu and Bay of Plenty;. Claude Denize (Thames, and a brother of R. G. Denize), J. Dudlev (Paeroa) and S. Williams. The lastnamed has the reputation of being a good half-back. In the pack new hands will be H. W. Farnall (Wellington), H. I Flay (Hastings and Opotiki), A. N. Shadbolt and V. Logan. In addition to the above-named the club has several good juniors who may find .their way into the senior fifteen.'
Mr. Trem. Haddon will coach the seniors and he is likely to turn out a side worthy of the club. Already the second and fourth grade teams are well filled and they will be considerably stronger than last year, while the same may be said of the club's other junior teams. The fact that 50 players put in an appearance for the first practice last Saturday speaks well for the club, which was popular many years ago. .Mr. H. Oakley is again secretary.
