HAMILTON MOTOR SERVICE.
LARGER LICENSING AREA DESIRED.

At a meeting of the Borough Council night disappointment was at a recent decision of the Transport Appeal Board in allowing an application by Mr. C. W. F. Trethowpn to run a motor service between Cambridge and Hamilton. The council acts as tie No. 4 Licensing Authoritv.
The Mayor said that by allowing the application after the licensing authority h<id refused it th<= Appeal Board placed thpni in an unsatisfactory position. Tr was highly do-iraWe that the licensing authority should be a separate bodv and. that it should control a. larger area. Under the present system it was impossible to avoid ill-feeling between one town and another. Mr. F. W. Luxford said that a duplication of services would mean an unfortunate cutting of fares. A motion was carried that a larger licensing area, controlled by a separate body, is desirable.
