MONEY FOR CHINA.
A donation of one hundred guineas to the Majors fund for the relief of the famine stricken in China was made by the Auckland City Council at their last meeting. Not many months ago it cost the British taxpayer a good many hundreds of thousands of pounds to keep our Chinese friends from looting British property and sacrificing British lives in Chins. Quite a lot of New Zealanders and their wive# and children here in Auckland wake up in the morning to wonder where the next meal is coming from. Would it not be more 6eemly to extend that one hundred guineas' worth of friendship to them? RATEPAYER.
