At tlie present nionient much discussion is going 011 in car circles concerning free-wheel transmissions. So far there is only one motor cycle so equipped on the market, and the future of the idea, as applied to two-wheelers, will be watched with interest.

The Melbourne to Sydney record lias received another set-back. (J. Weather by and I). Bain, riding an A.J.S. twin and sidecar, covered the distance in 13h 31 in, bettering the solo record by 10m and the combination by 04m. The distance is 507 miles.

At the motordrome on March 23 C. Blekemolen, the champion cyclist of Holiand, made a successful attack on Hubert Oppernian's world's tenmile motor paced record of 9m 30s, which lie reduced to !).!) 3-5.
