Along the back Carmel and Mountain Del were on terms well clear of Silver Jjink, Gold Treasure and Regret, and the pair turned for home about twelve lengths ahead *nf Regret, with Peter Pirate and Silver Link next. In the run home Carmel drew out from Mountain Dell and got the decision by three-quar-ters of a length, with Regret five lengths away. Peter Pirate was fourth, followed bv Silver Link. Favourite Lands Cup. Medusa. Anselm, Goldman. Dun das Boy, Loch Moich and The Abbev failed to parade for the Waikato Trotting Cup. and principal event on the programme. It was a good betting race and when the machine closed the Warplane-Torpedo Huon bracket ( £1)54) was a shade better naeked than Wrackler, who carried ( £031).
