ASSAULT ON CONSTABLE.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) MASTERTON, this day. Leonard W. Corlett was sentenced in the Magistrate's Court to seven days' imprisonment for having assaulted Constable le Comte in the execution of the latter's duty. A charge of the theft of a motor car was dismissed. On a charge of passing a valueless cheque accused was remanded to Wellington.
