With the object of encouraging a revival of native arts and industry, the Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, and Lady Alice Fergusson have given a trophy to be competed for annually by the Wanganui River tribes. The award is to go to the pa producing the best handicraft during the year. Monday will be Half-price Day at Smith and Caughey's. Doors open at 9 a.m. sharp.—(Ad.)
