HIKURANOI COAL. A NEW VENTURE. WHANGAREI, this day. The new mine in front o£ the Hikurangi School, on which work was commenced a fortnight ago by Messrs. Nesbitt'i party, is rapidly coming into profit. The top of the seam was reached on Wednesday, the vertical depth being 20ft, and the length of the drive 35ft, a great deal neiircr than was expected. The coal is illy of good quality, and the party hope u> be well rewarded for their enterprise. WEST COAST PINES (FIJI). Attention is drawn to the prospectus published in this issue of West Coast Pines (Fiji), a company that is being floated to carry on the business of cultivating and canning pineapples in Fiji.
