ULIMAROA SAILED. TOFUA FOR ISLANDS. During the last two days the tonnage in port lias been materially (Wrcased by the departure of several overseas steamers. Yesterday tbe Port Melbourne sailed for tlie South and the Waipahi for Suva. This morning the Ulimaroa left for Sydney and the lonic for Duneain, wliile the Kurow was to sail for Newcastle this afternoon. The Island steamer Tofua is to sail tomorrow morning. The only overseas steamer due tomorrow is the Tairoa, from Gisborne, for homeward loading, but expected arrivals oil Sunday include the Treworlas, from 'New York, and the R.M.m.s. Cabled advice from San Francisco confirms the departure from there on Wednesday last, of the Union Company's R.M.s. Tahiti, with passengers, mails and cargo for Papeete. Rarotonga, Wellington and Sydney. She is due at Wellington on March 11 and at Sydney on March 16. ULIMAROA SAILED. Taking passengers, mails and cargo for Sydney. the Huddart Parker steamer Ulimaroa was dispatched from Auckland this morning. She is due at Sydney next Tuesday and leaves there the following Friday for Wellington. AORANGI CLEARED SUVA. According to cabled advice from Suva, the Union Co.'s R.M.m.s. Aorangi arrived there from Vancouver, via Honolulu at 9.30 a.m. yesterday, and resumed her voyage to Auckland and Sydney at 4 p.m. Stoe expects to reach Auckland at 1 p.m. next Sunday, and passengers, mails, and cargo for New Zealand will be landed at the Prince's wharf. The local office of the Union Co. announces | the Aorangi to sail for Sydney at 10 p.m. on Monday.

At present loading in the south, tbe Canadian National steamer Canadian Conqueror is due at Auckland on March 7, and is announced to sail for New York, Boston and Halifax on March 9. HORORATA TO SAIL. To put out the remainder of her general cargo from London, tbe New Zealand Shipping Co.'s steamer Hororata is to 6ail for Bluff at 5 p.m. to-day. IRIS TO SAIL. 11.M.c.5. Iris is to sail at 9 a.m. tomorrow to repair the inter-island telegraph cables in Cook Strait. Two of the six cables have developed faults near Wellington. CANADIAN HIGHLANDER COMING. The Canadian National Steamship advises tbat the steamer Canadian Highlander, which left Halifax on January 27, will make Auckland her only port of discharge in New Zealand. She is due here about March 7, and will complete discharge in Australia. MESS TABLE GOSSIP. Captain G. M. Ruxton, who has been on holiday in Sydney, has taken command of the Karetu. Captain G. B. Corby has gone to the Kaikoral and Captain G. Elders is awaiting instructions in Sydney.

Advice has been received by the Farmers' Auctioneering Company that the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Napier loft I<ondon last Sunday for Auckland. Wellington and New Plymouth. She is due here about March 30, when she will unload between 4000 and 5000 tons of general cargo and a quantity of explosives. TREWORLAS' BERTH. Due at Auckland on Sunday, the A. and A. Line's chartered «teamer Treworlaa is to berth at the Prince's wharf to unload general cargo from New York. Her other ports of discharge are Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. (N.Z. Shipping Co., agents.) R.M.S. MAKI'RA. On her return voyage to San Francisco, via Wellington, Rarotonga, and Papeete, the Union Company's R.M.s. Makura left Syduey at 5 p.m. yesterday. She is doe at Wellington on Monday morning and resumes her voyage to San Francisco on Tuesday afternoon. MAUNGANUI FROM SYDNEY. With passengers, malls and cargo for Auckland, the Union Company's passenger steamer Maunganui is to leave Sydney this afternoon. She is due here on Tuesday morning and sails again on Friday. Also leaving Sydney to-day the Marama will go to Wellington. SUNKEN BARGE. Advice received in Auckland by McCallum Brothers states no difficulty should be experienced in raising the barge, the Rover, which sank in the Piako River, near Ngatea wharf, early on Monday. A quantity of the metal has already been unloaded, and as soon as the hatches are made watertight the barge will be pumped dry. She is resting on a muddy bottom in shallow water and the hull has not been damaged. TAIROA TO LOAD. Having left Gisborne last night, the Shaw, Savlll. and Albion steamer Tairoa is due at Auckland at 6 a.m. to-morrow, and will berth at the Central wharf to continue loading for New York. O. AND O. LINE. Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane advise that the steamer Golden Cross, which is scheduled to leave Los Angeles on April 1 for Auckland, Wellington and Lyttelton will also discharge and load at Nelson. She will be the first vessel of the Oceanic and Oriental Navigation Line to visit New Zealand equipped with cold storage space, and she will take perishable cargo on her return trip to the Pacific Coast.
