Since its inception the Applications Committee of the Wellington War Relief Association has dealt with 34,131 applications. Its official files now number 11,115, which is equivalent to about 12 per cent of the total membership of the Xew Zealand Expeditionary Force. Callers each year at the office number in the vicinity of 4000, whilst during the association's thirteen years of existence, 46,911 people have been interviewed. Letters written on behalf of soldiers and their dependents, excluding purely business communications, now number about 50,000. Nearly 5000 committee meetings have been held.
