MINISTER OF LANDS.
RECBVTIOK AT GISBORNE. — • j ON TE WERA BLOCK TO-DAY. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) GISBORNE, this day. The Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of Lands, arrived at Gisborne last night from Waikaremoana and was accorded a civic reception. The evening was spent hearing deputations, many of 1 them being on the necessity of closer settlement. Mr. Forbes left to-day for Matawai and after an inspection of the Te Wera block' he returns to Gisborne on Saturday evening, proceeding to Napier the next day.
