ANNUAL CONFERENCE.

OPENING TO-MORROW NIGHT.

The annual conference of the Methodist Church of New Zealand opens tomorrow evening at the Pitt Street Church when the president, the Rev. John F. Goldie, the well-known missionary who has spent 27 years in Solomon Islands, will deliver his inaugural address. About 230 delegates are expected to attend the conference from all over New Zealand, of them have already arrived. '

One of the functions in connection with the sitting of the conference takes place this evening, when there will be a young people's demonstration at the Town Hall, at which the vice-president, Mr. J. W. Shaekleford, will preside. The programme is headed, "The Ascending way from Cradle Roll to Christian Leadership," and various schools will take part in the entertainment.

On Friday night, at 7.15 o'clock, there to be a procession of witness from Pitt Street Church to an open air meeting in the Civic Square. The Wesley College Chapel at Paerata is to be opened at 2.15 p.m. on Saturday, by Mrs. Marion Caughey Smith, and a dedication service is to be conducted by the president. In the evening there will he a fellowship conference at Pitt Street Church. The Lay Preachers' Association is to hold its annual conference in East Street Hall on Monday night, and on Tuesday evening Mendelsshon's oratorio, "Sta. Paul," will be given at the Town Hall by the combined Methodist nioirs, conducted by Mr. J. Maughan Barnett.

Trinity Theological College is to be opened on next Wednesday afternoon by f^ r s. A. C. Caughey, and the president 's to deliver the" dedicatory address.
