TEMPORARY PIPELINE.

WATER FOR MISSION BAY. AUXUJJUtY SERVICE PROVIDED. PERMANENT MAIN LATER. Although continuous fine weather has been ideal for beach life it has not been altogether appreciated by residents of Mission Bay, who have had to rely upon tanks for their water supply. In order to tide them over their difficulty the City Council arranged this morning for a temporary pipeline to be laid, and it was expected that the work would be completed by this evening. The chairman of the city waterworks committee (Mr. J. A. C. Allum) stated to-day that when tie Public Works Department completed the bridge near Orakei Point a permanent water main would be laid along the waterfront to serve the easteru harbour suburbs.
