A MISCHIEVOUS MONKEY.
AND A POT OF JAM. Here is a funny little story concerning a pet monkey and a pot of jam. The monkey one day spied some raspberry jam a neighbour had been making, and had placed in the garden to cool, but had scarcely started helping himself to it when he was discovered. With a loud outcry and a broom the lady started towards him, when the mischievous animal, knowing that his minutes were numbered, hastily overturned the bowl on the table. Then, rolling himself in it several times joyously from head to foot, he scampered beyond her reach. For the rest of the day he was able to sit scraping the jam from his body, and licking his paws with glee.
