GOLF.

RETURN OF XL J. MOSS. HOLIDAY IX SYDNEY. The Auckland Golf Club professional, E. J. Moss, returned home yesterday by the Ulimaroa after a holiday of six weeks in Sydney. Moss is not taking part in the professoinal tourney at Napier this week, this being the second year that he has stood down from competition. The fact that he went round the Cronulla links in 67 as against 66 by Sinclair, the leading Australian professional, indicates that the Aucklander is in golf trim for tournament play, but he is nursing his general health at the moment by refraining from the strain of championship competition. According to the penial "Ernie" sevtral of the most prom:nent professional players in Australia are keen to visit New Zealand, and would welcome an arrangement of exhibition matches whereby their expenses would be covered.
